This month is a busy month for us and birthdays. Just to give you a clue...it starts with Colin's birthday on July 23rd, then Isaak's is on July 28th, then my mom's is today, Aug.2nd then my sister Meili is Aug 4th, then my husbands is Aug 6th, and then my step-daughter Kaitlyn's is Aug 12th, Daves mom is on Aug 20th, then my other sister Cherish is Aug 28th, and then my dad is Aug 30th, and then Dave's dad is Sept 6th I believe. I know I am missing someone.
So tonight, since Dave had to go to bed early for work tomorrow, I took the kids and went shopping for his present and my mom's since she will be here on Saturday. Here is my dilemma of the night...Both my mom and I collect those Willowtree statues. I found one that I
was going to get, but wasn't exactly sure of its meaning. It is called "Hero" Now, my confusion is..does this statue mean that she has a fallen soldier, or just that she has one, and he is alive? Or can it be both? When I first saw this, I thought, oh my gosh, my mom would love this, since Jon is in the Army, and Tony is going in 20 days...but then I thought..wait a minute...doesn't the folded flag mean that her son is passed away? I asked the girl at the cash register, and she was completely ditsy about it, and told me that it could be for both. I wasn't sure if I believed her, so I didn't get it. What do you guys think?

I found these adorable boxes at Michaels. They really can be used for anything, but I got a couple for putting my moms stuff in, and Dave's. They were on clearance for 99 cents for the big ones. They have all sorts of patterns, not just birthday. I should have grabbed more. Maybe I will go back tomorrow.
Anyways, the night of shopping went well, and it was actually pretty fun with the kids. We went to a lot of stores, and I thought for sure Natalie will be cranky and throwing herself about after the 2nd store, but she was really good, and didn't make a peep the whole time. Oh, and I am not telling what I got Dave, because I know he reads this. ;) So that was my adventurous night. :)

Well, I don't know much about the statue, but I would think a folded flag would mean it is for a fallen solider.....
